Isadora began dancing as a child, studying MTV’s music videos and recreating jazz and hip hop choreography in her mom’s bedroom. She went on to study both the Cecchetti and Vaganova methods of classical ballet, eventually training at the Boston Ballet School. She then took a deep dive into African dance, with a focus on Senegalese dance, before attending NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Isadora went on to a dance career that gave her the opportunity to work and learn from incredible artists from around the world. Always a class taker, Isadora soaked in the teachings of contemporary and classical masters, as well as intensive yoga, Pilates, and lesser known somatic practices.
Isadora began to put all of this information together in her own teaching practices as a guest artist, teaching at various festivals and universities as part of her company work. A decade later, she evolved into a teacher in her own right.
Isadora is on faculty at The Juilliard School, and has taught at institutions and festivals such as NYU’s Tisch School, Alvin Ailey II, Jacob’s Pillow, Marymount Manhattan College, Rutgers University, Springboard Danse Festival and numerous festivals in Europe.
Teaching has become Isadora’s passion. In her work with students, coaching them towards their highest potential as artists, Isadora has developed a refined and varied toolbox to maximize their technical, artistic and expressive skills.
