Isadora Wolfe is from Lowell, Massachusetts. Raised in the theater, Isadora began dancing at a young age and moved to Boston as a teenager to study at the Boston Ballet School. She went on to dance with choreographers and directors such as Johannes Wieland, Martha Clarke (Garden of Earthly Delights and Angel Reapers original cast), Richard Jones (The Hairy Ape at the Park Avenue Armory) and Punchdrunk (Sleep No More). Isadora is now an Artistic Associate for Punchdrunk after her posts as both Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director of Sleep No More.
As a choreographer and movement director she has worked on productions with Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, Eric Hill, Gregg Edelman and Kat Yen among others. Isadora teaches and coaches dancers and actors at various institutions and festivals, and is currently adjunct faculty at The Juilliard School, where she continues to develop her Acting for Dancers module and practice.
She divides her time between the Berkshires and NYC, and feels lucky to devote her time to honing the imagination in so many forms: through managing and structuring all the elements of a performing arts company, through her client’s movement and conditioning sessions, through theater and physical storytelling, through teaching ballet and contemporary dance. The imagination is the seed of intention, and Isadora is dedicated to nurturing that seed in theaters and studios, on stage and off.
